Governance

The HID obtains its powers in part under letters patent.

Important governing legislation includes:
the Local Government Act,
the Water Sustainability Act, and
the Community Charter.

And see the Improvement District Manual issued by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.

The Hedley Improvement District is administered by an elected Board of Trustees. There are 5 volunteer trustees.

The Board of Trustees meet on the 3rd Monday of each month at the HID office at 825 Scott Avenue.  Members of the public are generally welcome to attend but at this time due to COVID-19 we are unable to do this.  Please contact the HID office to be placed on the agenda.

Alice Christensen is the Administrative Officer and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the HID.

The HID office is open every Monday and Tuesday (unless there is a statutory holiday on the Monday) from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please come in and introduce yourself. We’d love to meet you!
