NOTICE: (03/08/2021)

From Interior Health:

Hedley Improvement District Water System has successfully installed a new pump in the 30 HP well and have had two series of acceptable bacterial results submitted 24 hours apart. After confirmation with Simon Harris, the water system operator, we have reduced the “do not consume (DNC)” advisory to a “water quality advisory (WQA)”. Recent arsenic results have been below the Canadian maximum acceptable concentrations, but historical records show arsenic normally remains around 0.008-0.009 mg/L. We will keep this advisory on the water system unless future arsenic testing shows consistently low arsenic results.

The last two arsenic results came back at .00477mg/L and .00565mg/L respectively.

Bottled water will no longer be supplied to Hedley residents.

Message From the Chair: Water System update

The new 30hp pump has been installed. As well, we have hired an engineer to present the HID Board with options for the arsenic problem.
