Trustees
Hedley Improvement District trustees are volunteers elected by landowners to direct the operation and administration of the water system, fire protection, and street lighting services. Trustees serve several roles, including community representative, steward of public services, policy‑maker, and law‑maker.
Every person who is qualified to be an elector in an improvement district is also eligible to serve as a trustee. Serving as a trustee requires a commitment of personal time and an interest in contributing to the community.
We encourage residents to get to know their trustees and attend the monthly board meetings, held in the HID office at the Hedley Centre on the third Monday of each month.
Please note that anyone may attend a monthly meeting; however, individuals may speak only when recognized by the Chair. At that time, they will have up to five minutes to address an issue. Questions or comments must be submitted by email prior to the meeting.
